The reason I decided to learn how to model a bed in Blender is because in interaction design, it's important to represent real life objects in the virtual space.
Blender's amazing 'Cloth' physics is amazing, and it opens up a plethora of imaginative opportunities, as seen in the mattress and pillows here.
The Abstract Process.
The idea was to take cubes and edit them so that they take the shape of the bed. In this project, all that actually goes into making this is 4 cubes - one for the bed frame, one for the mattress and two for the pillow.
The bed frame is just a game of scaling, region cuts and extruding one face for the post.
For the mattress and pillows, its all about using the Cloth physics tool in Blender. This tool allows simulation of objects(in the Blender timeline) if they were to be emulated as real-life clothes. Hence, settings like pressure simulated the 'puffiness' you see in the pillows.
I selected the level of puffiness I liked the most from the simulation timeline, and here is the result!

What I learnt:
Blender cloth feature
Bevel, solidify modifiers and blender physics like pressure.
Extension of the concepts I learnt in Blender Project - 2.
