Whenever I learn tools like Blender, the first thing that strikes my mind is - "make something cute!"
I envision my creations being used in a fictional setting. Which is why Steve here might make his way into one of my Unity games soon enough.
The Abstract Process
Steve was created just taking a UV sphere, cutting it in half, and extruding the lower edge face to make his body.

Then it just came down to extruding faces to make his arms, and using modifiers like solidify to give him some thickness.
For the eyes, the mirror modifier was such a handy tool. Doing both eyes manually wouldn't have given me the level of symmetry I desired.

What I learnt from making Steve:
All about modifiers like Solidify, Subdivision Surface, Mirror etc.
How to convert basic shapes into something special using your imagination.
Manually working with asset faces and edges to shape them in a way that suits your creation.
